Beginnings

  About Mason,

Engineer/reverse-engineer hair patterns.  Structure,  based on mathematics within hair design based on parabolic lines/curves, based on balance and proportion.  He’s a pattern maker.

Mason was groomed to be an educator!

There is no replacement for hands-on education.  Not one.......

The greatest investment you can make in you life is to go to a hands-on-class with an educator that makes sense to you.

Watching videos can only teach you so much.
My teachers would put their hands on my wrists and guide me through a technique.    Nothing can replace that.....!   I thank all of them.

This is about.   Knowledge, People, History, Tools, Crafting Hair.   In general,  a lot of what’s not taught anymore......    Mostly,  it’s about preservation.  It is a generation away from being forgotten.

It’s something that is very special.....

The beginning of this technique goes back to the late 1960’s.  It was created by a legend within the beauty industry to create quick accurate haircuts for a chain of salons in Toronto called “the Hair Cutting Place”  owned by Frank Angelo.   Frank would later go on to become a co-founder of Mac cosmetics.

The core of what is in this technique is timeless.  Although,  certain things have changed as trends change, like cutting edges and dry cutting.  The design patterns within will always stand the test of time.  They are based on math.
We share this in our classes!  You don’t have to be a mathematician to do this.     It just makes sense!

  The thesis.

-The human eye is only capable of seeing so many different variations in shapes-

About ten years ago I started to put together my thoughts of what I had learned about hair.  Techniques taught to me,  plus concepts I had learned and taught myself.

I think,  you’ll like it as much as I did,  putting it together for you.!

What I designed above will make much more sense once you let me introduce you to how hair works.
Get familiar with these lines.
They are for a right-side profile.
